What do I do with all my stuff? Genealogy based idea

You have been at your family history for many years, you have chased BMD things, deeds, wills and probate files, you may have dealt with orphans, adoptions and marital items. Now what to do with your collection. Part of the hobby of genealogy hobby is to identify tims and places. As you uncover things they will have a certain geographical connection, then there are those items that have a military or historical bend. For things that touch on geography/military or historical the best place might be repositories or societies that will catalog or file items in places where future researchers may find them. The same statement would follow for civil or census based information.

In the future no one will know what system or methods may be used to continue a search or read and look at ones been uncovered or be added to what’s been done before. So. trying to forecast the future for formatting your collection will be time consuming and no doubt expensive.

Genealogy tends to skip generations, by the time the next group tries or shows and interest in past relative’s work, chances are the authors are no longer around or in a state of mind to offer any help or embellish whats been established from “olden” times….
