Recently i started to study a township in CNY, the goal was to attempt to determine the names of those who early settlers in a town created in 1828, when it was set off from a town which would make the new town adjacent to it…
I used the following formula and created indexes using excel-
1820 federal census-lists heads of households (new future residents are created by the new (1828 boundaries of the new town.
1830 and 40- intheroy 100 percent new heads of households
1850- first census to list all occupants of a given household
1855 NYS census expands to list occupations/skills declared for each given household….
